Moving Checklist
The following Moving Tips
will help guide you to a safe, efficient and enjoyable move from City Wide
Moving Inc.:
¨
Many customers
find it helpful to create a floor plan of their new home. They use the floor plan to mark where to
place furniture. City Wide Moving
Inc. encourages this as it helps us move your items to the perfect spot.
¨
Have a garage
sale prior to moving to sell unwanted items.
¨
Approximately
two weeks before your move, start packing items that you are not using. Label boxes
on the sides with the room it will be going into. Do not label on the top of the box. It's a good idea to let City Wide Moving
Inc. pack any fragile and valuable items.
¨
If you need
storage for your belongings before or after your move, please contact us and we
will make those arrangements.
¨
Some perishable
foods can not be transported along with cleaning supplies. Try to begin finishing them prior to
your moving day.
¨
Have major
appliances disconnected and prepared for the move. Defrost all freezers and keep freezer
doors open to avoid odors prior to move day. City Wide Moving Inc. can help with
these arrangements upon request.
¨
Disconnect/Connect
all utilities (water, electric, gas, phone, cable,
satellite and trash collection).
Make sure you call in advance to ensure all utilities are ready on time.
¨
Drain gas/oil
from all power equipment (lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc).
¨
Make a list of
everyone to notify of your move: friends, family, magazine subscriptions,
creditors, mail carrier (fill out change of address form), food deliverers,
etc.
¨
Collect all
valuables (jewelry, stocks, cash, etc) as these must be packed, held and
transported personally by you on moving day.
¨
Inform City Wide
Moving Inc. of any high valuable items such as art work, clocks, antiques, etc
so they can receive special care.
¨
Be prepared to
pay on moving day unless specified ahead of time.
